Peko Peko: Taiwanese Food in Melbourne
Playful, fun and just a little bit kitsch, this hidden restaurant, just off of St Kilda Road, serves up Taiwanese food that will leave you anything but ‘Peko Peko’ – a cute way of saying “hungry” in Japanese.

Among the more traditional dishes you’ll find many which have taken qualities from Japanese and Western dining – most noteably in the bento boxed serving boxes of the cafes ‘peko box’.
For authentic flavours, try the ‘pop chicken’ – Taiwanese friend chicken cubes.

The warehouse style kitchen is almost always full of hungry local workers, the energy is high and sometimes the service seems a little slapdash but the food is always impeccable.
