Scenes from the famous play Peer Gynt by Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen are captured in 11 impressive wooden carvings by the artist Oddvin Parr. Born in Hellesylt, Parr started to learn wood carving at the age of 17 and creating this collection took 13 years of his life. The gallery is so much a part of the community that it is cooperatively owned by over 200 townspeople. The gallery also hosts guest exhibitions so there’s plenty to see even if you’re not familiar with Ibsen or Parr.
