Spooky Gulch & Peek-a-boo Slot Canyons

These two fun and easy slot canyons are just thirty miles down the unpaved Hole in the Rock Road from the town of Escalante. These canyons are easy day or even half-day adventures. They are carved from the iconic red Navajo Sandstone and are usually totally dry with an occasional puddle that is usually easy to avoid stepping in. The walls get so narrow at some points most adults need to turn sideways to get through. There is also some light scrambling, but nothing that kids who can walk can’t handle. It works well to connect the two slots by going up one and coming down the other.
