Surfing in Guatemala is just starting to hit the radar and its only a matter of time before new hotels and surf camps start popping up all over the Guatemalan Pacific Coast. Right now there are two solid options to pick from: Paredon Surf House and Paredon Surf Camp.
I went with the slightly higher-end Surf House for the pool and somewhat less "rustic" accommodations. You can choose from a ocean view, thatched bungalow on stilts or the lovely modern bungalows with private bath.
The resort is right on the beach and rents board daily. Family style dinners are prepared every evening with a (highly recommended) BBQ on Saturday nights.
Swells tend to be glassy and smoother in the morning and lean towards the intermediate surfer.
