Percé Rock, a vertical limestone monolith—433 meters (1,476 feet) long; 90 meters (295 feet) wide; and 88 meters (279 feet) tall—is just off the coast of the Gaspé Peninsula. The majestic rock and its neighboring Bonaventure Island (the two form Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé National Park) have become some of Canada’s and Québec’s most iconic attractions. L’Obélisque, the limestone pillar standing at the far end of the rock, was formed when an arch collapsed in 1845. Explore Percé Rock by kayak or boat, or enjoy the views from the shore.
