As a city renowned for its hipsterdom, you can find craft breweries in Vancouver left, right, and center. Parallel 49 sets itself apart from the other breweries mainly due to the quality and focus on its beer. Some breweries around town focus more on appealing to the masses instead of creating a quality product; not P49. Its tasting room may be a bit sparse, but you know when going there that you will get the quality beer that you are craving. It's also one of the cheapest tasting rooms around with sleeves at $3 and paddles from $3.50. They even have a daily infusion of some of their best sellers with various different ingredients (the best is when they mix it with their Old Boy... Old Boy and Java oh god...) One tip: don't come here hungry. In an effort to focus on the beer P49 does not sell food, however you can bring a sandwich to munch on or buy some food from the food trucks usually stationed outside. So basically, of you want the quality of a good craft beer without the through the nose price, P49 is the place for you.
