As a traveller, I sometimes experience what I call the "awe" moment. The moment when you stumble upon that dream spot and everything is completely and blissfully perfect. If you enjoy travelling as much as me, a good day of travel is filled with them. The beaches of Tulum, Mexico were different though. They not only ended a full days travel with white sand beaches, warm Caribbean waters, and breath takingly colorful sunsets, they also proved to be a completely priceless paradise. Literally. My friends and I stumbled upon an area that provided us with free camping, free running water (showers and toilets!), and a bountiful supply of free coconuts! Beach front with a view of nearby ancient Mayan ruins, we considered this a bit of a better deal than the $50 Cabanas a 10 minute walk up the beach!
