Caipirinhas at Sugar Loaf

Caipirinhas are synonymous with Brazil. I couldn’t be in Rio and not have one. This sugary cocktail took on new meaning when I shared the experience with a friend at Sugarloaf Mountain, the famous vista overlooking the city skyline. Pao de Acucar, or Sugarloaf, is a convenient cab ride from the more popular tourist site, Cristo de Corcovado (the Jesus statue). It is by cable car that you’ll travel to the mountains peak to take in breathtaking views of the city and Guanabara Bay. If you’re lucky, due to the low fog that typically blankets the view in the early morning hours, you’ll catch a glimpse the Christ statue in the distance. Cheers to Sugarloaf!
