Pancake PantryA local institution, this popular pancake house has served the breakfast needs of loyal patrons and new fans alike since 1960, with lines frequently stretching out the front door of the slate-roofed mountain chalet. Inside, efficient servers haul tray after tray from kitchen to table, loaded down with pancakes ranging from the wildly popular sweet potato (served with whipped butter and cinnamon cream syrup) to the buckwheat (a regional specialty) and the Pigs in a Blanket (link sausages rolled up in a buttermilk pancake). Also on offer are traditional egg dishes and omelets, plus a menu of gourmet sandwiches and burgers for a midday meal, but everyone’s here for the flapjacks.
