Many of Venice's jewelery shops sell items produced cheaply in China, or pieces that seem as though designed to break or fall apart. But there are exceptions, and Alessandro de Angelis PALWER boutique in San Marco is one of them.
The former Ungaro creative director opened his jewelery business in Venice last year, and frequently travels the globe with trunk shows of his delicate or big and bold necklaces, earrings, and leather worked accessories. His designs are free flowing, sometimes organic in shape, other times intricately patterned as though they were DNA double helix. They are always studded with brilliantly polished and cut stones and gems and shiny brass, gold, silver and platinum hardware.
His prices are reasonable and the shop is open daily. If you're in the market for big ticket, statement pieces, you can also organize a private viewing of his collections.
