2000 years back in time in Palenque
If you thought you had to visit Peru to experience the Mayan history, you’re wrong! Near Palenque, a beautiful town in Chiapas, there was found several kilometers of Maya ruins in the middle of the jungle. They believe that the 2,5 kilometers that was discovered (only by 2005!!), still covers just 10% of the total surface of this Mayan city. Even though it is a touristic attraction, it is a must do when you visit Chiapas. The ruins are impressive and just a walk through the old buildings and temples challenge you to discover new rooms and corners. The perfect location to let the child lose in yourself and start an old school game of hide-and-seek.
