Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires Ciudad Autonoma de Buenos Aires AR, Av. Alvear 1661, C1014 AAD, Buenos Aires, Argentina

When you think of Buenos Aires what’s your first thought? The first thing that came to my mind was Evita, actually Madonna as Evita. Besides the movie and hit musical with the same name, I knew very little about the city. That all changed when I was invited by the Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt Buenos Aires to attend their ten year celebration. The 5 star hotel is an oasis of luxury from the food to all of the services they provide. Once I walked into to the doors of the hotel, I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff which is a tone surely set by Philippe Frey, the General Manager.I felt like royalty as I stayed in one of hotel’s deluxe suites. Every time I went back to my room things were in order. Depending on the time of day, the curtain was either drawn or closed. Slippers were loving placed by the bed. I have to admit that the first time I went back to my room and my toiletries are organized, it creeped me out just a bit. However, I quickly got over it. It was such a nice touch. If that wasn’t enough, room services was 24 hours. Yes, I said 24 hours. Want a burger or snack at 3 AM? I could have one anytime I wanted. That was music to my ears. There are three restaurants in the hotel as well as a sexy bar to grab a cocktail. Park Hyatt B.A. celebrated ten years by inviting seven of their former chefs to come back to do an Anniversary Dinner at the Duhau Restaurant where each chef made a dish and paired it with an Argentinean wines. The chefs also participated in the monthly Masters of Food and Wine event held in the hotels gardens and terraces. This event tends to sell out because brings out the local residents in Buenos Aires so you know it’s got to be good. Of course I spent most of your time exploring Buenos Aires, but I also wanted to enjoy the comfortable room I was staying in. While the TV wasn’t set up for Netflix and chill, they provided a list of movies for the DVD player in the room. The selection of flicks are mainly oldies but goodies. I had a Keanu Reeves movie night of “The Devil’s Advocate” and “The Matrix” complete with a room service. It was the perfect way to spend the evening. To my surprise, Buenos Aires has a lot of European influences in the city. There is a plethora of Italian food and French architecture since French architects were hired to design buildings. It’s a diverse city where people of different races and cultures live in harmony. During the trip I experienced the essence and spirit of Buenos Aires.’ In other words, my trip was so fabulous even the spirit of Evita would have approved. Besides the luxurious ambiance at the hotel, they offer curated experiences for guests to experience the best that Buenos Aires has to offer. Some of the experiences they curated for me included the following: Spa/Massage Services- I had a relaxation massage on the day that I arrived and it was just what I needed to relax into being in Buenos Aires. Whenever anyone travels the body needs time to adjust. This is a wonderful way to settle down and relax, relate, and release into the destination. City tour- The tour that I went on was packed with fun and interesting facts about Buenos Aires. I felt like a got the inside scoop on what it’s like to live in the city. My favorite highlights of the tour were visiting an old church and visiting Eva Peron’s tomb. Cafe de los Angelitos Tango Show –It’s one of the top tango shows in Buenos Aires. After a three course meal then a sleek mix of modern meet old school tango begins. Enjoy the show while sipping wine. The costumes were beautiful. The dancers are so sexy, it made me want to sign up for tango lessons. La Bamba Estancia- This estancia is a very special place to spend to time. Guests can ride horses and see them perform. There are eleven rooms at the estancia to stay a night or two. The visit would not be complete without staying for lunch. I had such a wonderful time at a Sunday asado, a barbecue that lasts half of the day. There was good food, wine, and people from around the world. Isla El Descanso- This island is a nature reserve and it’s simply magickal. It’s only reachable by boat. The reserve’s director, Felipe Duran and his adorable dog, Mojito, gave a tour of the grounds and artwork. He and his partner have put love and care into creating landscape that touches the mind, body, and soul. I felt like I was at a botanical gardens. Everyone keeps asking me what my favorite thing was on my trip and it’s still hard for me to pick on thing. Everything was special for different reasons. I recommend staying at the Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt Buenos Aires whether you are on a girl’s vacation, honeymoon, family trip, or for solo travel. If you like to travel with your pet the hotel is pet-friendly. You will feel at home and if you are like me, you won’t want to leave.
