Palace of Saints Michael and George
This 19th-century palace was built by the British to house the Lord High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands. Later it became a residence for the Greek monarchy. Nowadays it is the home of the Museum of Asian Art, a fantastic collection that includes Buddhist artworks and samurai swords amongst other treasures from across Central and East Asia, the only museum of its kind in Greece. Outside the gardens, filled with exotic plants and Venetian stone aquariums, provide a pleasant place to stroll.
