Bertus Basson's Overture is located on breathtaking Hidden Valley wine estate, near Stellenbosch. Its ever-changing three-course menu is imaginative yet laid-back, with starters and mains like hot-smoked cabbage with celeriac and miso and mains like Chalmar sirloin with short rib, roast cauliflower, and gremolata. You can take in views of Table Mountain in the distance. Like most of the restaurants on wine estates, the focus is on lunch, with dinner served only a few days a week.
