Germany has Frankenstein, but Romania has Dracula! (I'm not sure who has the wolfman.)
In the town of Bran, tucked into the Romanian countryside is a castle on a hill that Vlad the Impaler, who was the inspiration of the Dracula story by Bram Stoker, once stayed.
And because he stayed once and because the book was written and because the world has gone batty for vampires, the locals are milking the Drac legend and selling t-shirts and just about anything else you can think of with the character on it.
The castle is very interesting, and so is the town, so get there if you can. It really doesn't suck!
