Lost: Walking Without a Compass
After a 10 hour ride from Marrakesh into the Sahara, a traditional tagine dinner, and a chilly tent in the desert, we finally set out for a long walk in the sand dunes. Several hours later, we had gotten lost, burned our feet, rolled down dunes, and happily regained our bearings upon summiting the tallest dune in the area. Digging our feet into the cool second layer of sand at the top of the dune with the realization that we knew exactly where our tents were was a great feeling of relief.
