Ottantotto FirenzeWhy we love it: A Tuscan villa in the heart of Florence complete with a courtyard filled with greenery.
- Climb the ancient staircase made out of pietra serena, a Tuscan stone typically seen in Florentine palazzos
- Daily breakfast in the lush backyard garden
- Seven distinct rooms with floral accents, beamed ceilings, and antiques
A Tuscan farmhouse hidden in plain sight in central Florence, this gem is the definition of urban oasis. There are seven curated yet cozy rooms hidden across the stone building’s four floors, featuring botanical wallpapers and headboards, antique furnishings and decor, walls with exposed stones, and wooden beams splayed across the ceilings. Bathrooms are a melding of old and new, with contemporary fixtures set among original stone alcoves, patterned tiles, and vintage Art Nouveau-style vanities. If you need more space, there’s a two-level suite with a sitting area, kitchenette, and private terrace.
In the morning, make your way to the lush backyard garden to eat breakfast surrounded by green plants, palms, and blooming flowers—is there any other way to start the day? Upon returning from a long day of exploring the city, stop by the honor bar in the gorgeously appointed living room for a glass of wine or a tea or coffee by the fireplace. The hotel is mostly hands off, although someone is available to assist with transfers and tours between 8 am and 4 pm. If you’re checking in at another time, the property has a smart check-in pad with an access code, making access possible at anytime.
