Lloyd, a guy who works with me, likes travel and likes eating. A couple of years back when Lloyd was on his way to Venice I mentioned one of my favorite spots for a meal in Venice. Lloyd ever the joke-ster replied.. "Yah It's near a bridge right? " so funny that Lloyd... In Venice everything is near a bridge. Seemingly There, every 100 feet or so you'll find a bridge. One of my favorite favorite spots to eat is indeed near a bridge... In fact...practically on it. Osteria la ponte derives its name from that tidbit of location. Adelaide and I sat elbow to elbow with the table next to us and had a delightful first meal of the trip.. The tables are so tight here.. But that is part of the charm. Tables turn fast so waiting could be worth the wait. Starting with a salumi plate to share and spaghetti vongole for Ad and gnochetti con granchi (crab) for me. Both were deemed delightful. A glass of Prosecco made the food even better and coffees at the end and the meal was nearly perfect.
