Finally, I got my first vacations in a long time! With a low budget and wanting some sunshine, I had no doubts of where to escape: the beaches of Northern Perú.
The most famous beach town up there is Máncora, in Piura. There you will find most of the hotels and restaurants, however it can be crowded sometimes. I prefer to relax in Vichayito and Los Organos, beaches further south of Mancora, where I stayed at a friend´s cabañas (beach cotagges), right in front of the Pacific Ocean.
Frigate birds, blue & warm Ocean, orange sunsets, fresh seafood and snorkeling everyday. I honestly could't have asked for more. Even though I can't compare our corals to the ones other world destinations, we saw really beautiful and colorful marine fauna. You are able to see big mammals such as Dolphins and Hutchback Wales, which are easily visible from August to November as they migrate to the South.
I can't wait for my next vacations or long weekend to go back to this paradise at only a 1.5 hour- flight from Lima, where I live.
