Great Pizza that Only Locals Know About in Florence
This pizza place is out of the way of Florence's touristy center, located in the heart of the Oltrarno on the other side of the Arno River. It's worth the walk over, first because the neighborhood gives you a glimpse of life of real Florentines (and even artisans working in their workshops), and second because the restaurant has quite an unusual interior. Housed inside an old convent from the 1600s, hanging lights, masks, pink walls, and characters hanging from the ceiling create an unforgettable atmosphere. The pizza is great--try the 7 flavors (shown above), which includes the restaurant's choice of 7 toppings (mine included mashed potatoes!).
