Omni Mount Washington Resort
Dinner at Stickney's and Drinks at The Cave
It’s easy to make friends in the former billiards room at the bar at Stickney’s Restaurant on the Patio Level. My travel partner and I share drinks with happy couples celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, and winter. Everyone asks what I'm celebrating, only I've been sent to the Resort on assignment, so I say I'm celebrating life and my great fortune to have found new friends on a cold day. We all agree to meet up after dinner at The Cave, a converted speakeasy left over from Prohibition days. We don’t drink out of tea cups, and no one is keeping watch to see if any officials are coming up the long driveway, but we do dance to a lively band and chat about what there is to do in the area. Skiing and a sleigh ride top the adventure list, while massages win with the spa set, but I can't wait to swim in the heated outdoor pool and catch snowflakes on my tongue.
