OlympiaschanzeStep back in time with a visit to the astonishing Olympiaschanze in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Famous for hosting the ski jumping event during the 1936 Winter Olympic Games, the iconic structure, which was renovated in 2007, continues to wow crowds today with competitions held every January. Visitors will gasp at the 295-foot-high jump, imagining the world’s most daring athletes flinging themselves into the air. Though much of the surrounding venue is completely new, some of the original statues still stand, and you can tour the museum to learn more about sporting triumphs before the Nazi regime.
