Women owned street food: Pupuserias
As you get off San Salvador airport and head towards the city, stop by the pupuseria-hub right off the highway in Olocuilta. This town is marked to be the birthplace of pupusa, the national food of El Salvador.

The row of pupuserias you will see here are all named after their female owners - Cristy, Mary, Brenda, Yancy, Rina, Tanya and Zoila! Even the locals head out to pupuserias for Sunday hangouts. It is the best cheap comfort food and costs only $0.40 per papusa.
