When I was a kid my mother used to feed me bread pudding for breakfast. So when I walked into Olivier's Creole Restaurant at 4:30 pm for bread pudding I didn't think anything of it. I had a craving that had to be satisfied while in New Orleans. There was no one in the restaurant, so when they seated me and I told them that I was just here for bread pudding I think they were a bit surprised. "You won't be having dinner?" they asked perplexed.
"No - I just came for your bread pudding - it's too early for dinner!"
They brought out this delicious bread pudding with rum butter sauce - a recipe in their family for generations.
It's never too early for bread pudding in New Orleans - craving satisfied!
