Qahva on the banks of Neretva river
Twenty years ago, this town was destroyed. After learning of the destruction of the 500-year-old bridge and its reconstruction, crossing the newly-built bridge, then climbing the old crippling minaret of the centuries-old mosque, we finally sat down at a terrace on the banks of the Neretva river. I sipped Turkish qahva and enjoyed borek. Overlooking the serene and peaceful skyline of Mostar, I marveled at the resilience of human beings.
