Odderøya is a forested island connected to the city center via bridges. A former naval base, Odderøya was also used as a quarantine station in the 1830s, once the largest in Northern Europe. Today, the island offers leisurely hiking routes with great views of the port, Christiansholm Fortress and lighthouses along the coast. It’s also a site for outdoor concerts where musicians such as David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Sting have performed.
