Begin your visit to this small but well-curated museum along the waterfront by watching a short film on Oban’s history, with a focus on events during World War II when the town played a central role in the Battle of the Atlantic. Canadian, American and Australian airmen—as well as Royal Air Force pilots—were all based in Oban during this period. But there’s more than military history to explore at the museum. Oban’s rich maritime and fishing culture also gets its due, with an interesting collection of artifacts on display. While there’s no entry fee, donations are welcome.
