Nora Gray quickly became one of my new favourite restaurants, not only in Montreal but anywhere in the past year. Liverpool House alumni and owners Chef Emma Cardarelli and Sommelier Ryan Gray cook up some serious Sicilian flavours at their casual boite located in the burgeoning Griffintown area. Their efforts landed them a spot on En Route's prestigious top ten Canadian restaurants list of 2012.
We had dishes like beet and blood orange salad; tarragon rabbit ravioli and salt crusted sea bream for two. It was a nice departure from the typical Italian restaurant and we felt like we were welcomed into a friend's house (there were also a few groups here which added to the festive atmosphere).
This is definitely on the "must" list and a good new addition to the varied Montréal restaurant scene joining other popular spots like Joe Beef, Au Pied de Cochon, and Toque.
