Noordhoek beach is located on the Atlantic side of the Cape Peninsula and, like most beaches in Cape Town, best enjoyed at sunset. Along the road to the beach you’ll find several guesthouses, making it a great weekend getaway destination for Cape Town urbanites. Horseback riding is also a popular beach activity in Noordhoek (check out nearby Imhoff Farm for details). After the sunset, the Red Herring dishes up some of the best pizza in Cape Town. They also have a rooftop deck for those post-beach walk sundowners. For a quieter setting, walk up the hill to Monkey Valley Resort and you’ll feel like you’re in a lodge built by the Swiss Family Robinson.

An hour scenic drive from Cape Town, Noordhoek offers a secluded beach along beautiful dunes and the wild Table Mountain range. Don’t miss the shopping center before the beach entrance, which is full of solid lunch and ice cream options.

White sand right off the coast

This was my favorite beach. I pulled over on the road could not believe my eyes. Get in the water, relax and enjoy the beauty you will see locals with their horses on the beach and it’s just awesome! ONLY beach that allow horses. All you need is a towel.
