Naga Fireball Festival
I’d have to say the Naga Fireball Festival is one of my favorite Thai festivals. Locals gather for a two-day celebration in Nong Khai, Thailand by the Mekong River to witness this yearly event where balls of fire rise from beneath the surface of the water and float off into the sky. Locals believe the fireballs are created by a snake called Naga who lives in the river – I can’t say if that’s true or not, but I can say that any reason for a festival is ok by me when it’s celebrated with such passion and good spirits!
