Give your stomach a break with kyo-yaki eye candy
My favorite non-food stall in Tokyo's incomparable Nishiki Market was the Nishiki-koji Gallary and Cafe. Every shelf showcased a new variety of Touan's kyo-yaki, the pottery of Kyoto. I usually walk in and out of stores quickly, but here I was mesmerized by the enigmatic patterns and ended up going home with several pieces from the Flowering Crystals collections.
