Trying to accurately describe the experience of going to India is sometimes challenging. We've all read accounts of other travelers going there and what they experienced: crowds, smells, architecture, food, cows, more cows, trains, squatters, Taj Mahal, etc. What I'm offering up is a simple picture that captures the essence of this fascinating country. Above is a photo of the power/communication lines located just outside my hostel in ND. The jumble of wires looks like something a four year old would scribble with crayons. However, as crazy at it appears, this all works. And just like India, with the amalgamation of sights, sounds, colors, textures and cultures coming together in what may appear to an outsider as chaotic, for some reason, it simply works. And trust me, you'll never fully understand or appreciate India until you actually go there yourself, it's an incredible experience.
