Néstor Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK)
Spanning an entire downtown block, the Néstor Kirchner Center (CCK) is one of the largest cultural venues in the world. The hulking, nine-story pile from 1928 was Buenos Aires’s Central Post Office until it lay abandoned for many years; a massive restoration project combined rescuing original details with innovative modern design, creating dozens of spaces for art, poetry readings, concerts, and performances. Especially recommended: music in the main symphony hall, nicknamed “The Blue Whale,” famed for curved, wood-paneled walls and outstanding acoustics. Visit the top-floor cupula for panoramic city views—or see an exhibit in this all-glass structure that seems to float, unsupported.
