A Balinese Cremation Ceremony
Balinese cremations allow the island's Hindu community to celebrate the deceased and to send them off to the next life. The ceremonies rarely include tears: Instead, families come together to ensure a proper send-off. Mass cremations, where villagers cremate several people who have died over the past four or five years, are especially unforgettable. If you're interested in witnessing these sacred and moving ceremonies, respectfully ask your hotel staff or inquire at an information booth.
