You might think finding a decent NYC-style bagel outside of Manhattan to nearly impossible, especially as far away as Matsuyama, Japan. But the world is full of surprises, including this very pleasant one located a stone's throw from the city's main Shiroyama Park. Locals line up at opening hours (even in the pouring rain, as we witnessed!) to get their hands on the tasty bagels, which come in traditional flavors like sesame and more inventive ones, like black fig. Try a bagel sandwich for a cheap but filling breakfast. Coffee and chai lattes are also sold.
