National Wine Centre
Brush up on your Aussie wine lore at this huge tasting room, set overlooking the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide's city center. Take a hosted tour and tasting or just wander at will, sampling from the 120 wines by the glass, including Australia's most famous drop, Grange Hermitage. You'll be impressed even before you step in the door thanks to the building's striking architectural profile, which features rammed-earth walls and 150-year-old jarrah wood floorboards. There's an on-site vineyard planted with several varieties, most notably shiraz—the country's star grape.
