The National Museum of Lithuania is located in Cathedral Square on Arsenalo st. 1 and admission is 5 Litas for adults. The National Museum is effectively a history and culture museum in one. Though many of the displays have English descriptions, I found myself frequently wondering about the organization of the exhibits, the uses of some of the displayed items, and the relevance of an item to Lithuanian history and/or culture. There were two exhibits in the museum that I did enjoy. 1) The room on Lithuanian traditional outfits was well curated. 2) The special exhibit on straw mobiles was extensive and the written information was, for once, informative. Looking back through my photographs I'm still amazed at what could be made from straw.
