We entered into a sea of hip Buddhist art sprinkled all over the studio, amongst them trophies of recent awards from International Tattoo Conventions. The soulful Reggae Music streaming over the surround sound system and the friendly smiles of "Arm," the Master Tattoo artist in-house that day, and his assistants, put us at ease. "Arm" himself is covered in some of the most amazing and colorful "ink" I've seen; that's a good start. We wanted a "Thai Prayer Tattoo," and since it is comprised of 100% Khmer writing, we wanted an artist who understood the significance and importance of this piece. At a starting rate of 2,500 Baht (always negotiate in Thailand) we were not only getting a good deal, but we were getting a pro. He was a perfectionist, precise and passionate about his work. If "ink" is what you are looking for in Thailand, pay the crew at Naga Tatoo Studio a visit.
