Used as inspiration for Arendelle in the Disney movie Frozen, the 11-mile-long Nærøyfjord is only 1,600 feet wide in some parts. Many visitors to the dramatic landscape combine a trip along this arm of the Sognefjord with a trip to the villages of Gudvangen and Flåm and a ride on the Flåm railroad. Smart travelers make their own way to the valleys and stay overnight to avoid the tour group crowds. You’ll then have all the time in the world to enjoy a kayak trip amid this magnificent natural scenery.
