Nærøyfjord
Used as inspiration for Arendelle in the Disney movie Frozen, the Nærøyfjord is one of Norway’s most famous fjords and for good reason. The 11-mile-long fjord is only 1,600 ft wide in some parts giving a real feeling of the raw power that created these fjords. Many combine a trip along this arm of the Sognefjord with a trip to the villages Gudvangen and Flåm and a ride on the equally-famous Flåm railroad. Smart travelers make their own way to the valleys and stay overnight to avoid the tour group crowds. You’ll then have all the time in the world to enjoy a kayak trip around this magnificent natural scenery.
