Dyrhólaey is just 10 minutes outside of Vík along the dramatic southern coastline of Iceland. When driving on the ring road you'll see signs for turnoffs to Mýrdal, but it isn't well marked. You can drive up to the coastline and walk around the black sand beaches. If you drive up the cliff you'll find Dyrhólaey. Dyrhólaey literally means "the hill island with the door hole." It's a beatiful sight and is a base for some amazing hikes.
