Home of Musical Legends
Linden is one of the most storied towns in East Texas when it comes to music, with Scott Joplin and T-Bone Walker among the many to have established their names here. Decades later, Don Henley of the Eagles would regularly play at the American Legion Theater, constructed from 1948-1950. In 2003, the theater reopened as a non-profit venue to support the arts and specifically music, from rising local artists to big-name stars. Alcohol isn’t served here though you can BYOB in small coolers and the Frito pies, barbeque sandwiches, and, of course, the foot-stomping music are more than enough to get the audience up on their feet.
