Museum of Nature and Man
Tenerife has long been a popular stop among traveling scientists; even Charles Darwin dreamed of visiting on his
Beagle voyage, though the ship was turned away due to a quarantine rule. The Museum of Nature and Man occupies the Old Civil Hospital from 1745, and its exhibits include depictions of the geological processes that formed the Canary Islands, displays of local marine life and information about the original Guanche people who were wiped out after Europeans arrived.
