Museum of Macau
Macau's history in miniatures and more
This museum by St Paul's ruins is definitely worth a visit. A very detailed and well curated history of Macau from the 1500s when the Portuguese arrived - the first of the Europeans in history, intercultural marriages, cuisine, culture and a section on the world's largest fire cracker exporter and one of the main industries that kept the population employed. There are also beautifully done sets of traditional Chinese medicine stores, the pawn shops and like the photo inset, miniature traditional Portuguese/Macanese houses.
