Museum of Ancient Greek Technology
This wonderful little museum near Katakolon's train station celebrates the ancient Greek talent for invention and engineering. This is often forgotten in light of their other talents for art and philosophy, but many ingenious and sometimes startling devices are on display here. Most amazing is the Antikythera Mechanism discovered near an ancient shipwreck south of here; it represents an early version of a calculating machine or computer.
