Museo Nacional de la Antropología Archaeology, history, and ethnography are the three principal topics of this museum, which was created by executive order in 1883. Five permanent galleries and three salons for temporary exhibits present the sweep of Salvadoran history, from the pre-Hispanic period to colonization, then on to modern times. Pieces on display include objects and artifacts discovered on archaeological digs.
