A Bottle of Red and a CastleAs a westerner I had a hard time remembering and overcoming the fact that in Italy you can buy a bottle of delicious Bardolino red for 3 Euros, head to your nearest church steps or attraction of choice, and close the evening in the company of locals.
Castelvecchio is the ideal spot to practice this activity with a bottle of your choice or a gelato and walk over the bridge where you will see steps up to a vantage point overlooking the river and San Zeno church (on a certain side). When dusk arrives the golden lights come on and the hooves of the horse carriage that passes can be heard coming and going while you try the best you can to communicate with the locals or your comrades of choice for the evening.
By day the Castlevecchio is a museum exhibiting medieval pieces of all designs.
