A few steps up leafy Via XX Settembre from Piazza Sulis, an Art Nouveau villa houses a museum focused on the history, geography, biology, economics and even sociology of the "red gold" upon which much of the city's wealth long depended. Interesting displays on the ground floor are labeled in English as well as Italian, and include a look at coral harvesting. While there could be more about the future of imperiled coral reefs and the displays upstairs still need English labels, this is a cute little museum with a welcoming staff.
