Learning about Colonial Lima in Bodega y Quadra Museum
The Bodega y Quadra Museum is housed in a mansion which belonged to a rich merchant from the Colonial era. It was chosen because hundreds of original objects were found at the site during archeological escavations that show centuries of architectural changes. To take a walk around this house is to go back in time. The Museum is free, beautiful and very well organized. It’s not big, so you can explore it rather quickly, and find out more about Lima from the Colonial time: the trade, the mix of cultures with the arrival of the Spanish and the life in the new Republic.
