Skiing the East Coast
Mount Snow is a great destination for a winter getaway that isn't too much of a trek from New York City. I love to stay in the quaint town of Wilmington, VT, which is a 15 minute drive to the mountain but has charming, mom-and-pop restaurants and businesses. The must-do's on my list are Dots for breakfast, a bloody mary at the mountain's 1900 grill to refuel for an afternoon of skiing, and apres-ski drinks at SILO - try the "A Snow Monkey in a Coconut Blizzard going Bananas" (yes, that's the real name) - for a delicious twist on a hot chocolate.
