The highest point within the city limits of Los Angeles, at 5,074 feet. Approach from the north side in Big Tajunga Canyon is very remote and steep. Upon reaching the summit, suddenly the expansive view to the South brings the entire Los Angeles basis. On a crystal clear December day we could see from the West to Ventura, south to Catalina Island, and Orange County through the Cleveland National Forest. 3.9 miles each way with 3,200+ feet vertical gain. Amazing to be climbing in such an isolated area, and suddenly look out over more than 10 million people!
